
| Fannin County and the North Georgia Mountains are full of not only outdoor activities, but plenty of attractions as well. Whether you want to get out and see the mountains or enjoy a day at a vineyard, Blue Ridge, Georgia has something for everyone to see. A visitor favorite is the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway, a 3.5 hour, 26 mile round trip ride along the beautiful Toccoa River. The railway trip passes through the downtown part of Blue Ridge, and stops in McCaysville, GA and Copperhill, TN. For those who enjoy history, browse the many historic locations throughout the area. The Baugh House is owned by the Fannin County Heritage Foundation and is open to the public on Friday and Saturday. If you enjoy getting outside and seeing the beautiful locations throughout Fannin County, Georgia check out Crane Creek Vineyards or Mercier Orchards. Both of these farms offer tours of the land, and Mercier Orchards has been a family favorite for quality apples for more than 60 years. In the fall, Grandpa Jones Corn Maze is a must-see. Featuring a 10 acre maze, games, food and a pumpkin patch, the corn maze is very popular just before Halloween. |
